The Sudbury Foundation Awards $155,000 in Emergency Hunger Relief Grants

November 5, 2025 (SUDBURY, Massachusetts) – In response to the SNAP funding cut brought on by the federal government shutdown, the Sudbury Foundation today announced an emergency funding initiative of $155,000 to support hunger relief organizations across our catchment area. The funds will provide immediate assistance to our community during this critical time.

The trustees of the Sudbury Foundation approved emergency funds to be distributed immediately to the following 17 local hunger relief organizations:

  • A Place To Turn (Natick, MA): $15,000
  • Acton Community Supper and Food Pantry (DBA Acton Food Pantry) (Acton/Boxborough, MA): $10,000
  • Greater Framingham Community Church (Framingham, MA): $10,000
  • Hope Worldwide New England (Framingham, MA): $5,000
  • Hudson Community Food Pantry (Hudson, MA): $10,000
  • Jewish Family Service of Metrowest (Framingham, MA): $5,000
  • Lincoln Food Pantry/Saint Vincent De Paul (Lincoln, MA): $5,000
  • Marlborough Community Cupboard/United Way (Marlborough, MA): $10,000
  • Maynard Food Pantry Inc (Maynard, MA): $10,000
  • Mt. Calvary Community Supper (Acton, MA): $5,000
  • My Brother’s Table Food Pantry/Good Shepherd Parish (Wayland, MA): $5,000
  • Natick Service Council, Inc. (Natick, MA): $10,000
  • Open Table, Inc. (Maynard, MA): $15,000
  • Pearl Street Cupboard & Cafe/United Way of Tri County Inc. (Framingham, MA): $10,000
  • Salvation Army/Framingham Food Pantry (Framingham, MA): $10,000
  • Stow Food Pantry (Stow, MA): $5,000
  • The Sudbury Community Food Pantry (Sudbury, MA): $15,000

“Although the local current hunger relief infrastructure cannot absorb this volume of need, many of our partners are working hard to do as much as they can and we are here to support their work.” said Sonai Shah, Executive Director of the Sudbury Foundation. “These emergency hunger relief grants highlight the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to supporting local organizations addressing critical community needs.”

The Sudbury Foundation is a private foundation working to transform lives and strengthen communities through grantmaking and scholarship programs in Sudbury, MA and surrounding communities. In 2024, the Foundation distributed $1.89 million in grants and scholarships to students and organizations in Sudbury, to organizations in communities surrounding Sudbury focused on Children, Youth and Families, and to organizations throughout the state of MA engaged in Farm and Local Food initiatives.
