The Hudson Community Food Pantry is committed to ensuring that all children in our community have access to nutritious food. Our Backpack Buddies program provides weekend food kits to children in grades K-12 who attend Hudson Public Schools.

How it Works

If your family is experiencing food insecurity, we can help. Backpack Buddies provides free food kits that are discreetly given to qualifying children by school staff.

Enrollment
Parents or guardians can complete a Backpack Buddies enrollment waiver form, available through their child’s school nurse or counselor.
Food Collection:
The Hudson Community Food Pantry purchases and receives donated food items.
Kit Assembly and Delivery:
Volunteers assemble food kits and deliver them to schools or homes. School nurses and counselors distribute the kits to students.

Who We Serve

Backpack Buddies serves children in grades K-12 in the Hudson Public School System.

Why We’re Different

Because we are based in Hudson, we can serve our community more efficiently than other weekend food programs. We focus on providing easy-to-prepare, non-perishable foods to ensure children have access to nutritious meals when school is out.

Backpack Buddies welcomes volunteers of all ages. If you have a group that is interested in volunteering at a date/time that is not listed on our sign up page, please email hcfp28@gmail.com to arrange.
