Saturday May 14th is right around the corner!! HCFP is excited that once again, the National Letter Carriers are conducting their town wide food drive. What can we use right now? Spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, beans (black beans, red beans, white beans) and canned olives are all in big demand right now. We can always use tuna, cereal, raman noodle soup and peanut butter.
The awesome employees at Intel returned to HCFP with their generous donations of what we call the Kids Green Bags of Summer. Filled with great treats for our kids, this had been an Intel tradition for several years. It’s great to see our table overflowing once again with green bags. Thank you Intel!!!!
It has been a busy summer at HCFP – and we are truly thankful for all our generous supporters.
In June, during the first heat wave of the summer, our A/C broke. What horrible timing! As soon as Manny Chaves heard about our situation, he stepped up to help, as he had done throughout the years. Thanks to the fine folks at Chaves Heating and Air Conditioning, we were up and running with a brand new A/C and Furnace Unit. Our clients can shop at HCFP in comfort year round for years to come thanks to Manny and his generosity.
The great folks at Intel are continuing their generous support of HCFP even in the pandemic. Thanks to Rachael who coordinates the community outreach program, Intel held a virtual food drive. Employees simply went online to Amazon or Walmart and placed an order that was delivered to Intel offices here in Hudson. Rachael gathered all the orders and delivered to our door! How cool is that! Safe and easy!
Stay tuned — Rachael has another project underway at Intel to benefit HCFP! So exciting!
Last September we started renovations at HCFP and we quickly realized we needed a new counter and some additional seating. Our wonderful partner, Mark Hollick, principal at Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School once again offered his students’ assistance (you may recall the did the new lights in the pantry!) Fortunately the work was completed before the school closed due to COVID and we were able to pick up the pieces in August. We are thrilled with the craftsmanship! What beautiful, sturdy pieces that truly enhance the lobby. We couldn’t be happier with the results! Thank you Mr Hollick for all you do for HCFP!
Thanks to the generous donations received from the community, we were able to purchase 2 new freezers and a new refrigerator that replace some older, less efficient equipment and expands our storage. During the summer we were extremely thankful for our partners at Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School because we were able to store perishable items (meats, eggs, cheese) at their facility while we installed the new equipment at HCFP.
That’s why we’re here.

How fortunate we are to have Highland City Striders here in Hudson! They raised $10,000 for the Hudson Community Food Pantry during the Running with the Wolves 10k & White Fang 5k road races. Today we welcomed Sarah Day, Race Director, and other members of HCS who presented John, Jack, Natalie and Brendan with the donation. A new roof is on our renovation “to do” list and their donation will certainly make that a possibility. Then when they all go running by they can look and say – that’s our roof!
Thank you to all who made this possible!
